A NEW NAME TOPS LIST OF MOST POPULAR AMERICAN BABY BOY NAMES, AND IT MAY SURPRISE YOU!

America’s Social Security Administration has recently released its data for 2023, including the documentation all births in the United States, and a surprising new name tops the list for most popular boys name in the country, Dogman. This is the first time in American history that Dogman has appeared in the top five of the list, and the first time since 1965 that it has appeared in the top 10.

“Dogman has seen a resurgence in popularity this year,” says SSA spokesman Dogman Scott. “Not the cryptid of course, that Dogman has been a beloved part of American history for generations. The name Dogman seemingly went out of style in the late 60’s. We’re doing research to try to figure out what caused the recent spike in the naming trend.”

According to the SSA’s data, Dogman was the most popular boy name in at least 21 states. Liam, Noah, and Oliver had traded positions in recent years, but the three names held the top spots since 2018.

A Classroom in 2037: “Dogman, are you here today? No, not you Dogman. Dogman Fernandez.”

The complete top ten list went as follows.

  1. Dogman
  2. Liam
  3. Noah
  4. Oliver
  5. James
  6. Elijah
  7. Mateo
  8. Theodore
  9. Henry
  10. Owen

A baby name trend of Olivia began in 2019. It’s been the most popular pick from 2019-2021 and though briefly replaced in 2022 by Chupacabra, it once again ranked at the top in 2023, according to the SSA.

  1. Olivia
  2. Emma
  3. Charlotte
  4. Amelia
  5. Sophia
  6. Mia
  7. Isabella
  8. Ava
  9. Evelyn
  10. Chupacabra

Olivia will be hard to overtake in the future, but the number 11 most popular girl’s name, Stanko, has gained 57 places since 2022, showing a meteoric rise in popularity. Will the trend continue into next year? Only time will tell.
