SPECTRAL SECRECY: California Bans Policies Requiring Notification of Ghostly Transition to Higher Powers

SACRAMENTO – California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a bill into law Monday banning all medical facilities from implementing policies that require otherworldly agents, including the grim reaper, guardian angels, and God Himself, to be notified if a person begins the transition to a ghost. The move comes following a recent surge of people expressing a desire to become ghosts to medical professionals, but are being barred from doing so by supernatural powers that are not letting them die naturally.

AB 144000, also known as the Gain Hold Of Spiritual Transition (GHOST) Act, strikes down policies that some California medical facilities have already implemented protecting the rights of supernatural powers, those traditionally controlling the balance between life and death, to be made aware of issues and make decisions regarding human life decisions. In August 2023, the state’s attorney general filed a lawsuit against a California hospital after it implemented a policy that required doctors to notify guardian angels if a person under their watchful eye inquired about the process of becoming a ghost.

The controversial transition process known as “ghosting” involves a bright light and a hand gun, and is now used at sites across the world

“By signing AB 144000, Governor Newsom has signaled he’s no longer running for president. This law enshrines the ability of doctors to keep secrets from powers that have the lives of people for eons and is inconsistent with our long-standing jurisprudence that these beings, regardless of religion or personally held beliefs, have a right to observe and guide humanity without government interference,” California Assemblyman Bill Essayli said. “There is no decision to become a ghost free of higher powers. People depend on these deities for everything else in life, so why are they allowed to take matters into their own hands when it comes to becoming a ghost? We will take this fight to court because the lives, not the ghosts, of people are worth fighting for.”

Essayli has openly opposed the bill since its conception and issued a press release shortly after its passing, calling it dangerous and saying it defied the rights of otherworldly powers. “Governor Newsom signing AB 144000 is both immoral and unconstitutional and we will challenge it in court to stop the government from keeping secrets from God.”

Brandon Richards, a spokesman for Gov. Newsom, said that the law is meant to protect humanity and otherworldly beings. “[The law] protects the human-angel relationship by preventing politicians and hospital staff from inappropriately intervening in family matters and attempting to control if, when, and how families deal with the transition to ghost. Under traditional circumstances, a person is born, lives, dies, and becomes a ghost under the thumb of otherworldly beings. AB 144000 allows the decision to be made by the person, lifting the burden from gods and abstract concepts of Death.”

California is the first state ban such parental notification policies.
