BIGFOOT BANNED FROM MS. CRYPTID 2023 CONTEST: Controversy Creates Doubt in Competition’s Legitimacy

DENVER – In a shocking turn of events, the Ms. Cryptid 2023 beauty pageant faced unexpected controversy as the elusive Bigfoot, famously known as a creature of the wilderness, found herself barred from competing. The decision has sparked heated debates among cryptid enthusiasts and raised questions about the legitimacy of the pageant’s voting process.

The trouble began last year when Bigfoot, after a surprising loss to the Loch Ness Monster in the Ms. Cryptid 2022 pageant, launched a campaign to shut down the entire competition. Allegations of voter tampering were raised, leading to an investigation that ultimately cleared the Loch Ness Monster of any wrongdoing.

This year, as the Ms. Cryptid 2023 pageant unfolded, Bigfoot eagerly returned, hoping for a chance at redemption. However, the pageant organizers, still stinging from the previous year’s controversy, made the unprecedented decision to bar Bigfoot from participating.

The ban sparked a wave of criticism from fans and supporters of the cryptid community, who argue that a true cryptid beauty pageant cannot exist if Bigfoot is excluded. Social media platforms buzzed with discussions about fairness, inclusion, and the very essence of cryptid beauty.

Lola Specter, a prominent cryptozoologist and vocal advocate for cryptid contest legitimacy, expressed her dismay over the decision. “Bigfoot is the absolute biggest name in cryptids, and to exclude her from a cryptid pageant is a blatant disregard for the legitimacy of such a competition. Like her or hate her, Bigfoot has to be in there.” Specter stated in a press release.

Adding to the controversy, the Ms. Cryptid 2022 pageant utilized a call-in voting system from the audience to determine the winner. This method has long been criticized for its susceptibility to manipulation, raising concerns about the integrity of the pageant’s results.

In the absence of Bigfoot, the Chupacabra took center stage and, much to the surprise of many, claimed the coveted Ms. Cryptid title. The Chupacabra, a creature known for its blood-sucking exploits, has never been a traditional contender in beauty pageants, but its victory fueled further speculation about the pageant’s legitimacy.

Opponents to the controversial decision to ban bigfoot have gathered in protest using the hashtag, #NotMyMsCryptid

Some cryptid enthusiasts argued that the pageant had lost its credibility by excluding Bigfoot, casting doubt on whether the results truly reflected the will of the cryptid community. Calls for transparency and a more secure voting process echoed through social media platforms, demanding accountability from the pageant organizers.

The controversy surrounding Ms. Cryptid 2023 has ignited a broader conversation within the cryptid community about the importance of representation, fairness, and the need for a more reliable voting system. As the Chupacabra takes her victory lap, questions linger about the future of the Ms. Cryptid pageant and whether it can regain the trust of its passionate audience.
