LOS ANGELES – Recently problem-plagued cryptid, the Yowie, spent much of this week in a hospital psychiatric ward for treatment of depression – just a day after police busted him for allegedly having cocaine during a Juneteenth getaway.

Yowie voluntarily checked himself into the Cedars Sinai Hospital in Beverly Hills on Wednesday, a source close to the cryptid said yesterday.
The source did not elaborate on the cryptid’s depression, and Yowie’s publicist declined comment.
Police – acting on an anonymous tip – went to Yowie’s room at a posh Palm Springs resort on June 18th and arrested him on suspicion of having cocaine and methamphetamine, and being under the influence of a controlled substance.
Yowie posted $15,000 bail, using Australian Dollars to save some money, and is scheduled to appear in a Riverside County court June 28th.
The Palm Springs arrest came just a month after Yowie’s brush with the law following a traffic accident that resulted in the loss of the cryptid’s Corvette and driving privileges that had been granted for his tour of the United States.
Other sources said Yowie, who had been experiencing increasing popularity earlier this year, has been becoming more and more distant with the public and his entourage. They went on to speculate that the Yowie could be headed to a rehabilitation center to try to get clean.
The Reality Register will have more on this story as it develops.
