LOVELAND – In the quaint town of Loveland, Ohio, a culinary sensation unlike any other has taken root, and it’s all thanks to the legendary Loveland Frogman. Yes, you heard that right. The same creature that has sparked myths and legends for decades is now making waves in the local dining scene with his oversized, deep-fried frogs’ legs.
Local diner owner Tommy Pavlik of Pavlik’s Grill is the source of this tantalizing tale. He’s established a working relationship with the Frogman himself, who supplies him with the freshest frog legs straight from his own bloodline. And while some may find the concept of feasting on Frogman’s offspring a bit unsettling, Pavlik assures us it’s anything but.
“You see, frogs lay thousands of eggs at a time,” Pavlik explains with a grin. “And they’re not exactly helicopter parents, if you know what I mean. They set it and forget it. So, why let all those delicious frog legs go to waste?”
Indeed, Pavlik’s Grill has become renowned for its oversized deep-fried frog legs, served up in a tempura-style batter that’s a true culinary delight. But the real secret, according to Pavlik, lies in the homemade ranch dressing that accompanies each dish.
“Our ranch makes Hidden Valley taste like crap,” Pavlik boasts. “It’s the perfect complement to the savory flavor of the frog legs.”
But how does one procure such fresh frog legs, you might ask? Well, that’s where the Frogman himself comes in. Pavlik reveals that he keeps the green guy stuffed with flies to keep him happy, and in return, the Frogman brings his lady friends back to Pavlik’s place.

“We’ve got this aboveground pool where we raise the frogs up to about 2 feet long before harvesting,” Pavlik explains. “. And let me tell you, they’re plump and juicy, just begging to be deep-fried to perfection. If you let them get any bigger than that, they get stringy and muddy tasting.”
But Pavlik isn’t just in it for the profit. He says that he usually releases a couple of frogs per batch, just in case anything happens to the original Frogman. And it seems as if a wild population is booming in Loveland, much to the delight of the locals.
In fact, Loveland Animal Control has reported that these frogs appear to have eaten every mouse and rat in town, which is just fine by them. After all, who needs pest control when you’ve got a hungry population of oversized frogs?
So, the next time you find yourself in Loveland, be sure to stop by Pavlik’s Grill and sample the culinary marvel that is Loveland Frogman’s deep-fried delight. It’s a taste sensation that’s sure to leave you hopping back for more.
